Nearly 10m customers flew with Ryanair in October.

The passenger airline's traffic statistics on Wednesday showed 9.68m passengers flew with Ryanair for the month, up from 8.43m in October 2014.

However it was a minor increase on September when they transported 6.55m passengers.

The airline also revealed that 94% of all seats were filled in the month, flat on the previous month but a five percentage point increase on 2014.

Ryanair’s Kenny Jacobs said the increase is due to a number of factors.

“[It is] due to our lower fares, our stronger forward bookings and the continuing success of our “Always Getting Better” customer experience programme, which continues to deliver stronger than expected traffic and load factors.”

The airline saw a record summer, with over 10m passengers flown in July and August.
