Ryanair reports record passenger numbers for June
Budget airline Ryanair reported record passenger numbers for June on Tuesday, up 11% on the year.
Traffic rose to 19.3m from 17.4m in the same month a year earlier, while the load factor - which gauges how full the planes are - was stable at 95%. This marked the first month that passenger numbers surpassed 19m.
On a rolling 12-month basis, passenger numbers grew 9% to 188.8m and the load factor was steady at 94%.
Ryanair said it operated more than 106,000 flights in June. Almost 400 flights were cancelled due to air traffic control delays.
