Budget airline Ryanair reported a jump in traffic and load factor for April on Wednesday, as it recovers from the impact of pandemic restrictions.

Traffic grew to 14.24m passengers from 11.2m in March and was up sharply compared with April 2021, when it flew 1.04m passengers.

The load factor - which gauges how full the planes are - improved to 91% in April from 87% the month before and 67% in April 2021.

On a rolling 12-month basis, traffic increased to 110.2m from 28.5m a year earlier, with the load factor at 83% versus 71%.

Ryanair said it operated more than 82,600 flights in April.
