Ryanair traffic rises 12% in July

Low-cost carrier Ryanair reported an 11% rise in passenger numbers for July as the load factor ticked higher.

Traffic grew to 12.6m customers from 11.3m in June, while the load factor - which gauges how full the flights are - nudged up to 97% from 96%.

On a rolling 12-month basis, traffic was up 13% to 125.1m customers.

Chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs said this was a record month for the company as it became the first European airline to carry over 12m customers in one month.

At 1035 BST, the shares were up 1.2% to €18.30.
