SABMiller-AB InBev deal nears China watchdog approval - report

The mega-acquisition of SABMiller by Anheuser-Busch InBev NV is nearing sign-off by China's commerce watchdog after agreeing to divest some assets, a report says.
Although China's Ministry of Commerce might attach some conditions to the deal, it apparently saw no major hurdles, reported Bloomberg, citing sources.
If this occurred, the $100m-plus beer deal would be a step nearer to completion.
It is expected that the US Department of Justice would approve the deal in June, the news agency reported, again citing sources.
The tie-up plan has won regulator approval in more than a dozen jurisdictions, including the European Union.
