Smurfit Kappa gets recognition at Colombian back-scratching ceremony
Smurfit Kappa talked up its latest accolades once again on Tuesday, after winning two Grupo Nutresa awards in Colombia.
The FTSE 100 packaging firm described Grupo Nutresa as “one of the largest companies” in Colombia where its products, which include food and drink, had a more-than-60% market share.
It said its first award was for ‘Best Supplier – Large Company’, and the second was the ‘Outstanding Supplier of Packaging’ award.
This year’s Nutresa awards included more than 363 entrants which were judged on a range of criteria including innovation, productivity, logistics and sustainability.
“At Smurfit Kappa we are proud to have been a close partner of Grupo Nutresa for over 40 years,” said Smurfit Kappa’s central America cluster chief executive Alvaro Jose Henao.
“We have built a relationship based on shared values, proactivity and teamwork, which are key tools in the continuous search for new opportunities.”
Smurfit Kappa Colombia said it provides a range of “optimised and sustainable” packaging solutions for Grupo Nutresa’s cookies, chocolate and coffee brands.
“What we are looking for with this outstanding supplier programme is to strengthen our sustainable supply process and continue to develop capabilities in the value chain and we want to continue doing this with you, our suppliers,” Grupo Nutresa CEO Carlos Ignacio Gallego said at the ceremony.
