SOCO's H5 platform starts production ahead of schedule

Oil and gas group SOCO International has started production at the H5 wellhead platform at the Te Giac Trang field in Vietnam.

The London-listed company said production on the platform, the third located on the Te Giac Trang site, began a month ahead of schedule and described it as a “key milestone” for the development of the field.

“We now look forward to working with our partners to maximise the recovery and performance of the field," said group president and chief executive Ed Story.

SOCO shares were up 2.14% to 143.00p at 1027 on Thursday.
