Sophos says US jury awards Finjan $15m in damages

FTSE 250 security software company Sophos Group said the jury in the lawsuit brought by cybersecurity firm Finjan has awarded Finjan a one-time damages payment of $15m.

The jury found that Sophos infringed on five of Finjan’s patents.

“This verdict represents the next step in an ongoing legal process and Sophos is considering all options including an appeal of the verdict.”

The verdict, which was reached on Wednesday, followed a two-week trial at the US District Court for the Northern District of California.

At 0944 BST, Sophos shares were down 1.5% to 259p.
