Standard Life appoints Melanie Gee as non-exec director

Standard Life has appointed Melanie Gee as a non-executive director with effect from 1 November.

Gee, a longtime corporate financier within UBS's investment bank, will also be appointed as a member of the rumeration Committee.

Chairman Sir Gerry Grimstone said: “Her strong background in financial services and board experience make her an ideal addition as we continue to drive forward the development of Standard Life."

At 1040 BST, Standard Life shares were up 1% at 412.60p.
