"Technical difficulties" hit Barlcays customers

Barclays was experiencing technical difficulties over the weekend, the company said on Twitter.

The issues, which were affecting "some services" are being "investigated urgently", it told customers.

Its banking apps and online banking services were "running smoothly", the lender tweeted on Sunday morning.

The bank also advised followers that it was "currently still seeing high volumes of customers calling us this morning, please bear with us".
