Banishing those hunger pangs has never been easier, with the likes of Deliveroo, Just Eat and Hungryhouse delivering fast food at the touch of a button.
And the choice just got bigger, as ride-sharing giant Uber launched its food delivery service, UberEats, in London.
Londoners can download the UberEats app or visit ubereats.com for service in Central London seven days a week from 11am to 11pm.
Already available in 16 cities including New York, the app allows users to order food from over 150 restaurants including Hotbox, Chilango, Pho, Comptoir Libanais and Snog, with no minimum order size and free delivery for the first month.
Uber, whose new app includes an option to customise orders and rate each item of food, promises to deliver within 30 minutes or give customers up to £20 off their next order.
Although it’s is only available in Central London for now, the company said it was planning to expand the delivery area, adding more restaurants in the coming weeks.
“London, we want you to be able to eat what you want, when you want. Download the UberEATS app or visit ubereats.com, find what you’re craving, and we’ll handle the rest,” Uber said in a blog.
Eric Partaker, co-founder of Mexican chain Chilango, said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with UberEATS. With the tap of a button existing guests and newbies alike can finally get our award-winning burritos and other Mexican fare delivered straight to their doors. The really exciting thing is to be able to break free from the constraints of our restaurants, so we can reach new people, create more raving fans, and further grow our business.”
