Value & Income Trust outlines dividend plan as NAV grows

Specialist investment trust Value and Income Trust posted its unaudited half-yearly financial report on Tuesday, for the six months to 30 September - a period in which its share price rose by 11.6% while the net asset value per share, valuing debt at par, increased by 3.9%.
The London-listed firm pointed out that the FTSE All-Share Index rose by 10.6% over the half year.
Group net asset value per share was 300.2p at period end, up from 284.14p a year earlier, valuing debt at market.
It had announced on 24 August that it intended to pay quarterly dividends in the future.
The first quarterly dividend of 2.6p per share was paid on 28 October to all shareholders on the register on 30 September.
The second quarterly dividend of 2.6p per share will be paid on 27 January 2017 to those shareholders on the register on 30 December, it confirmed on Tuesday, with the ex-dividend date being 29 December.
Value and Income Trust said the third quarterly dividend will be paid on 28 April 2017 to those shareholders on the register on 31 March 2017.
The ex-dividend date will be 30 March 2017, and the board will announce in due course the proposed fourth and final payment for the year, which subject to shareholder approval, will be paid on or around 28 July 2017.
