Manager at Volkwagen at said to be concerned about making any trips to the US in case they have their passports confiscated, reports have claimed.
German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung cited sources at the car-maker as saying that one employee has had their passport taken away during a visit to the US, where the company is being investigated for rigging emissions tests.
The publication said the source had told it new chief executive Matthias Mueller was now unlikely to make a trip to the country later this month as had reportedly been planned.
However, Volkwagen told Reuters that its employees "are still travelling to the United States" and that "everything else is speculation".
