Randgold Resources non-executive director Karl Voltaire will retire from the board in May, the FTSE 100 company announced on Friday.

He has been on the board since 2006 and has been a member of the company's audit and remuneration committees, however he has now come to the end of his term on the board.

Chairman Christopher Coleman said Voltaire has made a major contribution to the company over the last 10 years.

“On behalf of the board I would like to thank Karl for all his hard work and support which he has shown me in my time as chairman.”

Non-executive director Safiatou Ba-N'Daw will take up a seat on the audit committee in May.
