Eastern Europe-focused airline Wizz Air reported 19% in growth in passenger numbers for November, as the load factor ticked higher.

Passenger numbers last month rose to 1.77m from 1.49m in November last year as the load factor – which gauges how full the planes actually are – ticked up to 86.8% from 83.6%.

On a rolling 12-month basis, passenger numbers were up 18.6% to 22.43m.

In November, the company launched a new fare category called ‘WIZZ Go’. Both ‘WIZZ Go’ and ‘WIZZ Plus’ offer customers a discounted package price over the basic fare and the sum of ancillary services if purchased separately, as well as a faster booking experience.

Wizz also expanded its network, with seven new routes announced to and from Romania and Poland.

It also kicked off operations of ten new routes to and from Hungary, Poland, Romania, Macedonia, Lithuania and Ukraine.
