Wood Group has acquired Automated Technology Group (ATG), a supplier of control and power solutions for industrial automation, for an undisclosed sum.

The company, which is headquartered in Bedfordshire, operates primarily in the UK automotive, food and beverage and airport sectors and employs around 250 personnel. In the year to March 2015, it generated sales of around £36m.

Wood Group said ATG’s chief executive officer and founder, Andy Robinson, will continue to lead the existing management team.

The engineering company said ATG will perform within its Mustang’s Automation and Control business unit.

Wood Group Mustang chief executive officer Michele McNichol said: “ATG provides many opportunities for Wood Group Mustang, including growing our automation business to include manufacturing and expanding into the food and beverage and airport markets. With a culture focused on people and innovation, ATG is the right fit for Wood Group Mustang.”
