Workspace confirms talks regarding Hammersmith acquisition

Workspace confirmed on Friday that it has been in discussions regarding the potential acquisition of an office campus in Hammersmith for around £120m.

The FTSE 250 flexible office space provider said that if the acquisition were to proceed, it would be funded from existing cash resources.

“There can be no certainty that any transaction will proceed,” the company said, adding that a further announcement would be made if and when appropriate.

Workspace was responding to media speculation after Property Week reported that the company was set to nab the Hammersmith campus after redeploying funds from the sale this week of a London office portfolio.

At 1455 BST, shares were up 2.5% to 769p.
