Advertising and marketing colossus WPP has added to its interests in Brazil with the acquisition of a majority stake in "user experience" agency Try.

Advertising and marketing colossus WPP has added to its interests in Brazil with the acquisition of a majority stake in "user experience" agency Try.

São Paulo-based Try, also known as Cairos Usabilidade Eireli, designs and develops custom web, mobile, desktop and touch-enabled applications for clients such as Itaú Bank, Porto Seguro, Electrolux, SKY, Serasa-Experian and Havaianas.

Last year, Try, which has employs 22 people, made revenues of 2.5m Brazilian real and had gross assets of approximately 0.3m real at the end of the calendar year.

The agency also provides consultancy to their clients in user experience, interaction design and prototyping.

WPP said the investment continues its strategy of "investing in fast growing markets and sectors and its commitment to developing its strategic networks throughout the dynamic Brazilian market".

Including associate companies, WPP generates revenues of $650m and employs almost 6,000 people in Brazil, the group's eighth largest market.

In Latin America, WPP companies generate revenues of over $1.6bn and employ 20,000 people.
