WPP buys San Francisco-based Viscira

Advertising giant WPP has acquired digital marketing company Viscira for an undisclosed sum through its wholly-owned subsidiary Sudler & Hennessey.

San Francisco-based Viscira, which focuses on the healthcare category, had unaudited revenues of $17m (£12.1m) as of December 31, 2015.

The company develops interactive, digital marketing programmes for clients in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry, allowing them to connect with their audience in unique, differentiated and immersive ways.

WPP said the acquisition continues its strategy of investing in important disciplines, such as pharmaceutical and healthcare, and markets, such as the US.

Sudler & Hennessey is a global healthcare communications network.

At 1008 GMT, WPP shares were down 1.2% to 1,605p.
