XLMedia appoints Nigel Leigh as new information chief
Digital publishing group XLMedia announced the appointment of Nigel Leigh as its chief information officer, a non-board role, with immediate effect on Tuesday.
The AIM-traded firm said that in the role, Leigh would be responsible for defining the company’s long-term technology roadmap, architecting its “technology vision”, and driving value creation across its portfolio of publishing websites through data-driven analytics.
It said Leigh has a “strong” record of building consumer-first digital products using data and analytics, growing revenues and developing audiences for major publishing companies, including Telegraph Media Group and JPIMedia.
Most recently, he held the role of chief digital officer and sat on the executive management team at JPIMedia, where he spearheaded a “fundamental reshaping” of the organisation's digital assets, structures and commercial propositions, including rebuilding its entire technology stack, as well as delivering new revenue streams.
Prior to his role at JPIMedia, Leigh worked for the Telegraph Media Group, where he played a “major role” in its successful turnaround and digital transformation, the XLMedia board said.
“I am very pleased to be welcoming Nigel to XLMedia's leadership team,” said chief executive officer Stuart Simms.
“Nigel's hiring is a key part of our continued commitment to become a more data-driven business, build faster and more efficient operations and to forge closer links with our consumers.”
