Obama to unveil plan on immigration order while in Las Vegas

Barack Obama plans to announce an executive order in Las Vegas on 21 November to address immigration reform.

According to a Los Angeles Time report, the US president is expected to announce what it is likely to be his most ambitious and controversial plan to address the immigration issue, offering temporary reprieve from deportation to as many as 5m additional immigrants.

Full details of the plan are yet to be disclosed, but members of the Republican Party have already claimed that Obama's plans are illegal and beyond his authority.
