London’s FTSE 100 was down 1.5% at 6,019.24 in afternoon trade on Thursday.

Evraz, M&G, Standard Life Aberdeen, Mondi and Anglo American were all weaker as their stock went ex-dividend.

Antofagasta fell after the Chilean copper miner posted a 22.4% fall in first-half earnings on weaker prices and sales but still paid a reduced dividend.

On the upside, Ocado was the standout gainer as Goldman Sachs lifted its price target on the neutral-rated shares to 2,205p from 1,250p.

"Ocado continues to offer the most compelling online grocery solution within our coverage, in our view, leaving it well positioned to benefit from the continued shift to online grocery, which has accelerated in recent months due to Covid-19," GS said.
