London's FTSE 100 was down 0.08% at 7,297.18 in afternoon trade on Monday, as Aviva led the way lower.

The insurer dropped after confirming that it will retain its operations in Singapore and China after reports indicated that the former of the businesses could be slated for disposal.

Shares of Burberry followed close behind after UBS analysts cut their target price on the stock from 2,220p to 2,175p, while miners Glencore and Evraz were also in the red.

Up at the other end of the index, NMC Health led the risers and energy company SSE climbed after analysts at JPMorgan hiked their price target for the stock from 1,100p to 1,250p.

Finally, other utilities providers such as Severn Trent, National Grid and United Utilities were in the green, recovering from the falls registered on Friday when the Labour Party had unveiled plans to partially nationalise BT Group.
