FTSE 100 movers: Burberry, StanChart gain; Frasers in the red
London’s FTSE 100 was up 0.1% at 7,767.95 in afternoon trade on Monday.
Online supermarket Ocado was the standout gainer on the index, closely followed by Standard Chartered and luxury fashion brand Burberry.
Victoria Scholar, head of investment at Interactive Investor, said China-linked stocks like Burberry and StanChart were up "following positive price action overnight from the Shanghai Composite and the Hang Seng".
BA and Iberia owner IAG flew higher after budget airline Ryanair said it bounced back to a near-record annual profit following a "strong" post-Covid recovery.
Mike Ashley’s Frasers Group was weaker following a report it is in advanced talks to buy cycling goods specialist ProBikeKit.
According to Sky News, Frasers is close to buying the stock and intellectual property assets of PBK from online nutrition and beauty retailer THG.
City sources told Sky a deal could be finalised and announced later this week.
