London’s FTSE 100 was down 0.5% at 8,309.08 in quiet afternoon trade on Friday.

There wasn't a whole lot going on but Ladbrokes owner Entain gained after an upgrade to ‘neutral’ from ‘sell’ at Goldman Sachs.

Elsewhere, heavily-weighted miners were in the red, with Anglo American, Antofagasta and Glencore all down.
