FTSE 100 movers: Hargreaves Lansdown keeps pushing higher, outperforms financials

Hargreaves Lansdown topped the leaderboard on the top-flight index, coming within throwing distance of its best levels since spring 2022 at one point during the session.

In the background, gains for index heavyweights BP and Shell also provided a lift.

Going the other way, financials were under pressure, including shares of Prudential, M&G, Legal & General, Lloyds and St.James's Place.
