FTSE 100 movers: Randgold stands alone in sea of red

The widespread sell-off of FTSE 100 stocks cast a pall of gloom in early Friday afternoon trade.

Only Randgold Resources showed any fight at 1400 BST to be the sole swimmer in a sea of red.

Falling oil and metals prices sparked investor flight hitting the likes of BHP Billiton and Glencore.

Continuing concerns about a British departure from the EU made skittish investors more jittery which hit financials. Barclays, Prudential and Standard Chartered all took a beating.

Tesco shares slumped more than 3% as the sold the Giraffe restaurant chain and its majority stake in Turkish business Kipa.
