FTSE 250 movers: Superdry shoots higher; Dixons goes ex-div
Updated : 15:06
London’s FTSE 250 was down 0.9% at 17,156.01 in afternoon trade on Thursday.
Dixons Carphone was among the fallers as its stock went ex-dividend.
On the upside, Superdry was the standout gainer following reports earlier in the week that co-founder Julian Dunkerton was preparing to requisition an extraordinary general meeting to ask shareholders to reinstate him as a director.
Gold miner Acacia Mining followed close behind as gold prices held near six-month highs.
Elsewhere, contracts for differences online service provider Plus500 rallied after saying it expects its full-year performance to be ahead of expectations as the “strong momentum” reported last month continued.
"The group has continued to perform well since the implementation in August of regulatory changes by the European Securities and Markets Authority," the company said in a trading statement.
