FTSE 100 movers: ITV, Legal&General lead declines
Updated : 17:44
ITV shares were at the bottom of the pile after analysts at Barclays lowered their target price on the stock from 200.0 to 190.0p.
Fashion retailers were also weak, tracking the 1.04% drop in the pound against the US dollar after the Prime Minister committed herself at the weekend not to delay the start of Brexit negotiations past March 2017.
The higher inflation pressures which might result from such weakness are expected to weigh on consumers' purchasing power.
Legal&General was also unwanted after analysts at JP Morgan cut their 2018 earnings per share forecasts by 10%, on expectations that the company would see a slowdown in its pace of cash generation.
JP Morgan analyst Ashik Mussaddi said he could see better opportunities elsewhere, with Aviva in the UK a case in point.
Schroders got a lift from M&A in its sector after Henderson Group and Janus Capital announced that they would be tying the knot.
Stock in InterContinental Hotels Group and Travis Perkins rose ahead of each company's upcoming dividend payments, later in the week.
