Intellectual property group Frontier IP has seen Halma subsidiary Palintest begin its commercial rollout of Molendotech's rapid water testing kit.

Frontier, which holds a 14.1% stake in Molendotech, said the commercial rollout of Siren would initially focus on the UK and Ireland where it will establish a number of demonstrator sites.

The AIM-listed investor said it Molendotech's Siren test couls be used on location by "moderately-skilled technicians" to produce a recreational water test result in just 20 minutes compared with a more than two-day wait for samples sent to a laboratory.

Chief executive Neil Crabb said: "It has taken less than 18 months from when Molendotech was first incorporated to the full commercial rollout of the first product based on its novel intellectual property."

"We are confident the company will continue to make strong progress."

As of 1040 GMT, Frontier shares had slipped 0.66% to 75p.
