Hurricane Energy teams up with Technip and FMC technologies

UK-based oil and gas company Hurricane Energy has announced that it has selected Technip and FMC technologies as its exclusive provider of subsea solutions for the Lancaster Early Production System (EPS) and subsequent development of the Greater Lancaster area.

Technip and FMC technologies have developed an innovative approach to enhance the economics of the proposed development. The focus of the approach will be on system design optimisation and reducing risk in project execution.

Chief executive Dr Robert Trice said: "Hurricane, Technip and FMC Technologies have worked collaboratively to develop the Lancaster EPS as a fit for purpose concept. This has allowed us to reduce the scope and the cost of the development, and ensure full alignment among those driving the project forward.”

President of Technip in North Sea Canada Knut said: "Both Technip and FMC Technologies, through the alliance, are delighted to be selected as Hurricane's exclusive SURF / SPS providers and look forward to facilitating the EPS and Greater Lancaster Area development."

The share price rose 1.53% to 39.85p at 0941 BST on Wednesday.
