Lamprell appoints Christopher McDonald as CEO

Oil services group Lamprell has appointed Christopher McDonald as chief executive officer with effect from 1 October, succeeding Jim Moffat who will be retiring as previously announced.

McDonald, a US national, was executive vice president and group head of business development with Petrofac in the UAE, where he was accountable for global sales.

Lamprell said he has extensive international experience in the energy, procurement and construction and oilfield services sectors, having worked and lived in the USA, Asia, Australia, Europe and the Middle East.

Before joining Petrofac, he spent 18 years with Halliburton/KBR, where he served on the board of MW Kellogg Ltd. and led KBR's worldwide lump-sum EPC sales and marketing activities.

Chairman John Kennedy said: “I am absolutely delighted that we have managed to secure the appointment of someone of Christopher's calibre and experience. He has an outstanding track record with two of the most respected companies in our industry and he brings a significant depth of leadership capability and market knowledge.”

At 1220 BST, Lamprell shares were down 1.8% to 69p.
