Video game industry services provider Keyword Studios has bought Canadian rival Global Video-Games Services, along with its subsidiaries including Enzyme Testing Labs, for CA$5.4m cash. The jewel of the acquisition of GVGS, which is expected to be earnings enhancing, is Montreal-based Enzyme Testing Labs, “one of the most recognised technical services brands in the video games industry”.

Dalata Hotel Group said it had signed an agreement to lease a new Maldron Hotel, to be built in Newcastle, with ES Newgate Limited, a subsidiary of McAleer & Rushe. The new 226 room four star hotel will be located on Newgate Street in the city centre, a short walk from Central Station and close to St James' Park, home to Newcastle United FC, Dalata said.

Shanta Gold has received the advanced payment of $5.25m as part of its silver-streaming agreement (SSA). It would also receive an ongoing payment of 10% of the value of silver sold at the prevailing silver price at the time of deliveries.

Property developer Watkin Jones said it remains confident in its outlook, noting the company's development pipeline provides excellent visibility of earnings and cash flow. Directors believed the company would report a successful financial year with trading in line with expectations.

Shares in Scisys rose as the supplier of bespoke software systems to the space, defence, government and commercial sectors updated its outlook for the year, following “strong” trading in the second half. The AIM-listed company now expects adjusted operating profit, before exceptional items and share based payments, and revenues for the year to 31 December to be ahead of current market guidance.

Proactis Holdings, a spend control software provider, has completed the acquisition of Millstream Associates, a provider of e-procurement systems and services to the public sector, for about £15.5m. The acquisition was funded through a share placing of 9.2m shares to raise about £12.5m and a revolving credit facility of £6m.
