With the rest of the home nations falling in the first knockout round of Euro 2016, it is left to Wales to carry the UK's hopes in France after a tumultuous week on and off the pitch in the region.

Chris Coleman's side unexpectedly topped their group at the tournament ahead of neighbours England, and then went on to beat Northern Ireland in a tense encounter last time out.

Up next is a Belgium side who many feel are primed to take the crown at the championship, such is the talent available to them.

Eden Hazard, Kevin de Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku are just a few of the big names that Belgian manager Marc Wilmots has at his disposal, but Wales will count on Real Madrid Champions League winner Gareth Bale for a big performance to guide them to a historic semi final.

Chris Coleman did not want to take anything away from his players ahead of the game on Friday night.

"I'm not going to play the occasion down, I'm going to enjoy it and savour it," said Coleman.

"Since that 1958 quarter-final, we have to put this down as the biggest game our country's ever been involved in".

"We have done well to get this far," said Coleman. "But when you are in the quarter-final of the tournament knowing if we can get it right there are great possibilities, it is different. It is a fantastic pressure to have."
