Google can record your conversation without you realising

Personal privacy is a legitimate concern for all technology sceptics these days, and Google may well have produced a new feature which ensures nothing goes unheard in the near future.

The company quietly records many of the conversations that people have around its products. It works through a voice search tool that is used for them to improve language recognition tools as well as bettering its search results.

It's not as scary as it might seem initially, as there is a straightforward way to manage the data, which can only be seen by you. It's possible to listen to the recordings and delete them as you see please.

The portal was introduced in June 2015 and has been active since then, so conversations that you believed to be utterly private may not neccesarily be so.

As an Android user you will be more susceptible to, and be able to make use of, the system. By simply saying the words "Ok, Google" the portal will be activated. In this regard it can be used as a `personal diary in order for you to remind yourself of a particular conversation or activity.

However, for a lot of people the best thing to be achieved from this development is simply the ability to get rid of the files. To do this you access your Google history, move to the top of the page and select delete, and there are options to delete everything or only specific recordings.

To avoid the system being put to use at all, you can simply turn off your virtual assistant and voice search options. But therein lies the debate, how do we draw the line between what is useful and what is invasive?
