Wednesday preview: Fed minutes, ISM services PMI in the spotlight
Investors' focus on the day ahead of the elections will be on a raft of US economic reports that are due out.
Those will include the minutes of the Federal Reserve's last rate setting meeting at 1800 BST.
They will be preceded by the Institute for Supply Management's services sector purchasing managers' survey for the month of June at 1400 BST and weekly unemployment claims figures.
Also due out, at 1215 BST, is consultancy ADP's monthly tally of private sector payrolls.
On home shores, at 0830 BST S&P Global will publish its services sector PMI for June.
Comparable PMIs for the euro area's largest economies are due out half an hour before.
