Formerly known as Consolidated Stores, the company changed its name to Big Lots following a rebranding exercise in 2001. Now, as America’s largest broadline closeout retailer, the Columbus, Ohio-based company operates more than 1,400 retail stores, serving 46 states and generating annual revenues in excess of $4bn. Founded in 1967, Big Lots now employs more than 45,000 associates across the United States.
