The Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT) on Thursday ruled in favour of BT.
"Overall, we considered that, whether taken by itself or in comparison with other prices, BT’s prices were not unfair, and therefore there was no abuse of dominant position," the CAT said in a summary of its ruling.
The claim, made on behalf of 3.7 million BT customers, alleged that BT charged excessive prices for standalone fixed voice services, notably for older customers, constituting an abuse of a dominant position.
BT said it took its responsibilities to all customers “very seriously” and welcomed the ruling.
