Driver Group declares dividend after fall in revenue, earnings

Engineering and construction consultancy Driver Group reported an 8% decrease in revenue in its preliminary results on Monday, as it declared a final dividend of 0.75p per share.

The AIM-traded firm said its underlying profit before tax decreased 20% to £2m for the 12 months ended 30 September, while its profit for the year fell to £1.1m from £1.3m.
Net cash narrowed to £6.5m from £8.2m year-on-year, while its workforce utilisation increased to 72.4% from 72%.
Earnings per share slipped to 2.1p, from 2.6p for the 2020 financial year.
“I am pleased to report another positive result for the group during unprecedented times and would like to pay tribute to our amazing staff, who have continued to respond with extraordinary dedication and professionalism to the challenges caused by the pandemic,” said chief executive officer Mark Wheeler.
“The business remains focussed on higher margin work and opportunities and we have seen further growth in our number of Diales experts and Diales revenue.”
At 1139 GMT, shares in Driver Group were down 6.47% at 47p.
