The AIM-traded firm said that O’Hara was bringing more than 30 years of sales leadership in the networking and semiconductor market.
Over the last 17 years, he had focussed on network processors, and most recently, he served as vice president of sales at Mellanox Technologies, with responsibility for global network processor and multicore sales.
Prior to that, O’Hara served for 15 years as the vice president of worldwide sales for EZchip Technologies, until EZchip was acquired by Mellanox in February 2016 for $811m.
Previous roles included senior sales management positions at Conexant Systems and AMD.
“We are pleased to welcome Rob to our organization as a preeminent member of our sales team,” said Ethernity CEO David Levi.
“Rob brings many years of experience in leading sales operations at EZchip, an ASIC-based network processor player.
“Together with the recent appointment of Critz Chan as VP Sales, APAC, we are well structured for significant growth around Ethernity's patented programmable Flow Processor technology.”
Rob O'Hara said that he “strongly believed” in Ethernity's high quality FPGA-based solutions, and had already seen interest from clients in the telecom industry.
“I'm looking forward to growing the business and taking Ethernity to the next level.”
