The AIM-traded investing company, which focuses on energy transition and sustainability in the built environment, also welcomed Stearns to its board as an executive director.
It said the 64-year-old had more than 40 years of experience in C-suite level positions such as CFO, chief executive officer and chief information officer, managing emerging growth companies.
He would bring “significant” expertise in portfolio management, complex financial structuring, and strategic consulting with public and private companies in both the US and Europe, the board said.
Stearns began his career at JP Morgan, and was previously a managing director with AIG in its private capital group.
In addition to his new role at ix Net Zero, Stearns was currently serving as the executive chairman of Citron Energy, where he is also a director.
“In October 2010, Stearns was a director of PCD Communications - a United States-domiciled company which filed for bankruptcy,” the board further disclosed.
“The bankruptcy was eventually converted to a Chapter 7 liquidation, and a final winding up of its affairs was concluded in 2012.”
At 1057 BST, shares in ix Net Zero were down 0.61% at 8.2p.
