The wine range, one of the largest in the UK, will be delivered through a new National Fulfilment centre (NFC) which is managed by Wincanton plc and based in Greenford.
The company believes this will bring several benefits to customers. Customer service will be improved through flexible delivery options that allow them to click and collect from 210 stores around the UK or receive the wine straight to their doorstep.
The store has removed its six bottle minimum requirement for online orders as well as added a “No Quibble” returns policy to allow customers to get their money back if they don’t like their choices.
Each store will stock tailored ranges that recognise local customer tastes. With the NFC catering to 40% of online orders, staff will be able to focus more on customer service.
The board does not expect the new facility to impact earnings in the current financial year.
Managing Director of Majestic Retail John Colley said: "This is a big step in our transformation plan and will help support Christmas trading. We are putting the customer back at the heart of Majestic and can now offer a complete multi-channel experience which will deliver real benefits to our customers, people and therefore our shareholders"
