The AIM listed company said that Indira IVF, a leading group of fertility clinics in India, had purchased three ScanTrainer Transvaginal training simulators to meet the growing demands of its 80 clinicians and 30 embryologists across its fertility centres across India.
The group also planned to double its clinician numbers and centres over the next two years and in turn use the ScanTrainer training simulators alongside their associated cloud-based services to meet the growth in ultrasound training demands.
The cloud-based services would entail the Scan Trainer Cloud to enable customers such as Indira IVF to upload their own patient scans to create bespoke educational lessons, as well as build regional, national or global practical examinations of their trainees' scanning skills, and ScanTrainer Examine which grants access to a growing library of over 500 common and rare pathology patient cases, as well as a comprehensive range of diagnostic examinations.
Also, the ScanTrainer would offer a self-directed learning solutions for their clinicians to acquire the necessary ultrasound skills needed to grow their confidence in transvaginal scanning and revolutionise the way Indira IVF trains its doctors.
Dr. Kshitiz Murdia, medical director at Indira IVF, commented: "ultrasound forms an integral part of our patient consultation and diagnosis process. In the past we have faced challenges when it comes to training on live patients, and ScanTrainer offers us a true-to-life, self-directed learning solution for our clinicians to acquire the ultrasound skills they need and grow their confidence in transvaginal scanning."
For his part, Craig Henshaw, VP in international sales at MedaPhor said: "we believe ScanTrainer's unique self-learning, real-time skills assessment modules and cloud-based services will revolutionise the way Indira IVF trains its doctors. As a company, MedaPhor now has recognition for both ScanTrainer and HeartWorks within the growing Indian market which is an exciting opportunity to have an impact on ultrasound education in the country."
