Mirada, a British software provider for digital TV and broadcasters, said the service will be available through Izzi Telecom’s TV channels in Mexico from 4 July and will be accompanied with an extensive marketing campaign.
The Iris software allows content to be viewed across set-top boxes, smartphones and tablets using Mirada’s Inspire interface. Customers will be able to pause live shows, watch on multiple platforms, access on-demand TV and more content.
The software incorporates Mirada’s TV Everywhere solution which provides digital video broadcasting and over-the-top TV solutions, via the internet without a cable or satellite pay service.
Chief executive Jose Luis Vazquez said the roll-out was Mirada’s biggest commercial deal to date and the largest in Latin America, providing a good reference case for the company.
He added: "This clearly demonstrates our ability to successfully manage and deliver a substantial nationwide solution encompassing several million subscribers.
“It also provides awareness of the market leading quality and advanced capabilities of our solution. We are confident that other operators will be monitoring the success of this rollout and that ultimately this will open up more major contract opportunities in the future."
Izzi Telecom, part of Televisia, is the largest media company by market capitalisation in the Hispanophone world.
Mirada had previously provided TV software solutions to the BBC, Sky, ITV, Virgin Media, Telefonica and France Telecom.
The company’s share price rose 18.16% to 5.02p at 0928 BST.
