New non-executive chair and deputy join Greatland board

Greatland Gold announced on Wednesday that Mark Barnaba and Elizabeth Gaines had joined its board as non-executive directors.

The AIM-traded firm described Barnaba as an “eminent natural resources investment banker”, and was currently deputy chair of Fortescue Metals Group.
He had been appointed to the role of Greatland’s non-executive chair, while Gaines, former Fortescue chief executive officer and managing director, was joining as deputy chair.
Alex Borrelli had transitioned from non-executive chair to the senior non-executive director role, as lead UK director.
“Following the recent news of their appointment, we are thrilled to officially welcome Mark and Elizabeth to the Greatland board,” said managing director Shaun Day.
“Both Mark and Elizabeth bring incredibly valuable skills to Greatland and collectively, they will deliver us one of the strongest Boards in the global mining industry.

At 1538 GMT, shares in Greatland Gold were up 8.72% at 7.98p.
