OMG partners with Vizrt for virtual studio solution
Television producers were set to have a new virtual studio solution available on Monday, with the announcement that the Vicon division of Oxford Metrics Group (OMG) was forming a strategic partnership with Vizrt.

The AIM-traded technology group said the partnership would integrate Vicon's tracking solution with Viz Virtual Studio, allowing production teams to quickly deploy virtual sets with precise camera lens calibration and accurate tracking abilities.
Vicon's broadcast solution included a new piece of software called Studio, which helped deliver smooth, reliable and low latency samera tracks within the virtual studio arena. Studio was filly compatible with Vizrt's Tracking Hub - a configuration and control system for virtual studios.
"Vicon has been an excellent development partner and their new tracking solution integrates seamlessly with Vizrt's Viz Virtual Studio solution," said Vizrt chief engineering officer Gerhard Lang.
"Vicon offers an extremely accurate system that is perfectly suited for fixed sets with multiple cameras and future proof even for 4K productions," he added.
Nick Bolton, chief executive of OMG, said the company had worked very closely with the teams at Vizrt in to deliver the new tracking experience to production teams.
"This development, within the broadcast virtual arena, is a further testament to the continued innovation, strength and adaptability of our technology and we look forward to fortifying our relationship further with Vizrt," he said.
