The contract will see WANdisco deploy its patented big data and cloud product, WANdisco Fusion for Multi-Cloud, which will be used to enable continuous replication of the client’s data across multiple Amazon cloud environments and locations.
David Richards, chief executive and chairman of WANdisco, said it was becoming “increasingly unlikely” that large-scale businesses would opt to depend on a single cloud vendor.
"We are seeing businesses with complex data requirements choose multiple suppliers for a range of specialised data use cases. This requires data to be replicated across a multi-cloud architecture with guaranteed data accuracy. The only technology that can enable such live data at scale is WANdisco Fusion," said Richards.
The AIM traded data specialist's product is intended to ensure that data is concurrently available in different cloud applications, cutting total cost of ownership through reducing switching costs across different cloud vendors.
"We built strong momentum during the second half of FY18, leveraging the full power of our sales model and winning contracts which are increasingly recurring in nature, both directly through our sales force and through our partnerships with IBM, Microsoft and Amazon," said Richards.
WANdisco’s shares were up 10.39% at 518.80p at 0920 GMT.
