The AIM-traded firm said the partnership would open a new distribution channel, with Snowflake's 4000 customers and “significant” market share of Fortune 500 customers.
It explained that businesses were increasingly seeking to take advantage of modern data and artificial intelligence (AI) services in the cloud.
WANdisco said combining its ‘LiveData Migrator’ capabilities of migrating large-scale Hadoop analytical workloads with Snowflake's platform would enable enterprises to efficiently adopt a new analytics platform in the cloud.
“WANdisco's LiveData Migrator has proven its capabilities to seamlessly move data lakes to the cloud with several Fortune 500 companies,” said co-founder and chief executive officer David Richards.
“Snowflake is seeing increased demand from enterprises seeking to migrate Hadoop workloads to Snowflake's Data Cloud.”
Richards said the partnership would give enterprises “peace of mind” with accelerated Hadoop data migrations to Snowflake's platform.
“This partnership ensures enterprises have a powerful option to move their organisation to the cloud and take advantage of increased productivity, security and insightful data analytics available to employees anywhere at any time, whilst doing so at scale if needed.”
