New Microsoft console takes a leaf out of Apple's book
Technology giant unveils new Xbox One S which posesses similar traits to previous model
Microsoft seems to be a fan of Apple's iPhone strategy, as the technology giant has released the Xbox One S at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, the world's biggest video game trade show.
Every year since 2007 Apple has released a brand new iPhone. In between times, they have released updated versions with higher specs and more functionality, but essentially the basics are the same.
Once again along the same lines as Apple, Microsoft seems to be gearing up for a big 2017
The new Xbox One S takes a similar approach this year as it is slimmer, with more features than the previous model, but there's nothing entirely new about it. It also come in white, as do most of the iconic Apple products.
The new Xbox supports 4K (the original could only output HD-quality video), has a hard drive up to 2 TB (instead of 1 TB), and has the power supply built into the box itself—avoiding the dreaded converter on the floor situation.
The console will start at around $299 (211 pounds) and will be available from August 2016.
Once again along the same lines as Apple, Microsoft seems to be gearing up for a big 2017, as the latest console operates as a stop gap for next year's release, rumoured to be named "Project Scorpio".
