Premier League chairman backs Remain vote
Richard Scudamore reveals all 20 PL clubs want to stay in the EU
- Brexit referendum takes place this Thursday as Britons decide whether to leave the bloc or not
The chairman of the Premier League has said that he believes it makes sense for Britain to remain in the European Union, and that he has the support of the 20 top flight English clubs.
Richard Scudamore spoke to BBC Radio 5 live on Monday morning to discuss Thursday's Brexit referendum in which the British people will decide whether they want to remain or leave the powerful bloc.
He said that the continued membership of the EU makes sense in terms of business perspectives and regarding the protection of intellectual property.

"There is an openness about the Premier League which I think it would be completely incongruous if we were to take the opposite position," Scudamore said.
Senior figures within the national Football Association have voiced concerns however, believing that it could help British players to flourish if they were not crowded out by foreign alternatives.
In an article in the Mail on Sunday, former England player Sol Campbell argued in support of Brexit.
"The Premier League is in danger of becoming a free-for-all because, along with the star players, we are seeing teams load up with too many mediocre overseas footballers, especially from Europe, crowding out young English and British talent," Campbell wrote.
Scudamore's support comes after a whole host of business and economic leaders have backed the Britain Remain campaign, pointing to the expert view that the economy would be in trouble if the UK were to leave the EU.
